The Burmantofts database project Due to the limited information about Burmantofts wares and the items produced I am producing a database of shapes and designs with a view to eventually publishing the results on the website so that the public can access this information. Apart from one or two very rare catalogues in museum collections there is no definitive list of shapes from the pottery. For students who study ceramics, schoolchildren interested in their local area, or people who have an interest in their local history, I believe this will be a very valuable resource. I eventually wish to include photographs of items in the database so that students and the public who have an interest can benefit from the range of shapes and designs produced. I hope you understand the importance of keeping records for our future generations and hope you will contribute in some way.
