John worked for Turner's Dairy delivering milk. After that, he became a member of the Vancouver Police Force where he was known as "Lucky Smith". He left the force and worked at delivering bread. While married to
Elizabeth, they moved to Powell River and he continued with the bread deliveries. He served in WWll with the Canadian Seaforth Highlanders. He was injured in the war, shot, and was still picking shrapnel out of his body until his death.

More about Albert SMITH
He served in the Canadian Air Force during WWll. He was stationed in
Calgary, Alberta, but never served overseas. He was an airplane navigator.

When he married Sadie Marguerite (Peggy) Newton Swenson, Bert worked at Turner's Dairy delivering milk. He lived at his parents home at
1737 West 5th Avenue in Vancouver, B.C. He was 25 years of age and his denomination was the United Church of Canada, Peggy was 28 and her denomination was Presbyterian. Bert and Peggy married at the home of Bert's parents on April 13, 1940. Bert's best man was Samuel McAdam of 3178 West 15th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. Peggy's maid of honor was her sister, Velma Jane Newton and she lived at 3614 Cambridge Street, Vancouver, B.C. Rev. George C.F. Pringle performed the ceremony. 
Albert and Peggy were divorced in 1964.

Albert eventually married Verna Mae Smyth.

Sadie (Peggy) was married first to Arthur Ward Swenson. They married on
March 14, 1931 in Burnaby, B.C. The ceremony was done by Rev. J. White and it was at 3:00 p.m. At the time, Peggy lived at 1813 Morton Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. and Ward was living at the Rialto Hotel in Vancouver, B.C. Peggy's attendent was Katherine (Billie) McDonald and Ward's attendent was his brother, Leslie W. Swenson. They left for a honeymoon in Seattle, Washington at the New Richmond Hotel room #916. They arrived at 9:00 p.m. Saturday (4 1/4 hours to get there). On Sunday, Aunt Maud had a party for them and on Monday, Aunt Maud had a chicken dinner. They left for Vancouver Monday night at 6:15 p.m. and arrived at 10:00 p.m. Peggy gave birth to a still born son. This marriage eventually ended in divorce.

Peggy worked prior to her first marriage. After her divorce from Albert Smith, her second husband, Peggy found work at Gault Bros. Ltd. running the cafeteria. She then moved into lady's wear and various stores. She died in 2000. Burial:
February 05, 2000, Mission, B.C. Canada. (....had her 89th birthday in the Mission Memorial Hospital)
